Sophomores and Juniors- the University of Wisconsin-Madison is offering a totally free summer program to students with a strong academic background who are thinking of going into a field in engineering after high school. You will explore several engineering fields, experience what engineers do, and listen to engineering in the various engineering fields. Room, board, and tuition fees are totally free. Various corporations have donated the funds to the College of Engineering to cover the costs. This free program is on a first come first serve basis. Please see Mr. Hittman if you would like to be a part of this summer of 2016 program.

Seniors thinking of attending the UW-Madison for engineering please see Mr. Hittman regarding a renewable scholarship program that can mean thousands of dollars for you to attend UW-Madison College of Engineering. Do not wait, this too is a first come first serve program.

Students are welcome to join the Book Club’s Fangirl discussion at the Carthage college library today at 5:30 PM. Please see Mrs. Overocker for a permission slip or if you have a question.

Are you tired of losing arguments with your friends, prove to others that your opinion is the right one, or just have people think you are right even though you are 100% wrong? Then join the LakeView Debate club and Model United Nations Chapter today after school in room 203 to learn and perfect your debating skills.

Seniors’ community service hours have now been logged into Infinite Campus. Please look under “ASSESSMENTS” for your “scale score” to indicate how many hours you have submitted. If you have a discrepancy, see Mrs. Anderson in person to review paperwork together. Lastly, if you need community service hours, please see Mrs. Anderson’s bulletin board for ideas. Seniors, all community service hours are due by May 1st. You must have 10 hours submitted to graduate.

The Chamber of Commerce has begun accepting scholarship applications from seniors. The application is due by 3:00 PM March 31, 2016. Your family must have connection to the Chamber of Commerce to apply for the scholarship. The applications are in the office in the counter rack.

Seniors, if you attended Somers Elementary School for at least two years, there is a scholarship available for you. Please see the scholarship wall or LakeView website for details. The deadline to apply is April 22, 2016.

Indian Trail attendance girls interested in playing play softball, there will be a parent and player informational meeting Monday, February 15th in room 1101 at 6:00 PM.

Get your friends together and come to the school social on Friday March 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Permission slips and the $5.00 cover charge are due in the office by March 9th. There will be a professional D.J., Magic Card Tournament, video games, board games and food. Your $5.00 cover charge includes 1 raffle ticket and 1 concession item. Pick-up your permission slip form the main office today!

Advanced Placement (AP) registration is up and available through the month of February. Simply long into or create an account with totalregistration.net to sign up for your AP Exam. e-school, please be sure to register that exam with e-school. See Mr. Creel if you need any assistance or have any questions about AP testing.

Sophomores and Juniors must have Youth Options paperwork for classes at Gateway, Carthage, or Parkside to Mrs. Anderson by March 1st. If you need more information on how to sign up, please see Mrs. Anderson.
