About Us

Our Mission
  • LakeView was created for students interested in pursuing careers in manufacturing and engineering.
  • The school will service students from their freshmen to senior year, with a maximum capacity of 350 students.
  • LakeView has strong ties to local business and industry. We offer students the option of job shadowing and apprenticing in their Junior and Senior years.
  • LakeView will also be offering Gateway Technical College credit for graduating students.
  • The students receive community input through community leaders and parents in the school's Site Council. Students also have a say in daily matters through the student-led Board of Directors.
  • Classes are 90-minute blocks.


KUSD's Mission


MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of LTA, performance-based high school of choice with collaborative partners, is to empower students to succeed by providing in-depth technical educational experiences, preparing students to be competitive in a changing marketplace.





OBJECTIVES

By 2012, all students will successfully complete the requirements in their chosen career track. Annually, all students will participate in meaningful service projects. By 2009, all LTA students will be involved in a minimum of two co-curricular activities.

TACTICS

We will develop a marketing strategy to raise awareness of LTA's diverse curriculum and career opportunities.

We will develop and implement a system, which engages students in meaningful service projects.

We will develop and implement systems, to ensure that all students will successfully complete the requirements in their chosen career tracks to best achieve the identified Kenosha Unified School District goals.

LakeView Tecchnology Academy offers a small school environment, high-tech tools, and a staff that cares.

Academy Mission Statement To successfully educate all students to reach their fullest intellectual, academic, social/emotional and physical potential.

Academy Goals

  • To provide a combined career/college prep program recognizing that some of the skills needed for employment are higher and different than the skills needed for college.
  • To develop and implement an integrated technology, science, math and English curriculum for grades 9-16 in consultation with an advisory committee that prepares students for employment and lifelong learning at the Technical College and University levels incorporating training such as Youth Apprenticeship.
  • To provide a hands-on, yet conceptual based learning environment in which teachers of technology, science, math and English collaborate to foster problem-solving individuals and create within the students the aptitude to learn how to learn.
  • To develop a program in collaboration with other public and private technical colleges and universities.
  • To expand working and unprecedented partnerships with area businesses and industries in programs such as job shadowing for teachers, job shadowing for students, and Youth Apprenticeship.
  • To include parent and community involvement at the Academy and District level in an effort to re-establish families as the central support structure for children.
